This bone stock, all-original 1940 Ford 5 window coupe is an amazing barn find ready for restoration. The car had been in storage at this location in Montana for 36 years. This is a Model 022A Standard coupe with Deluxe hood and grill. Otherwise, it has never been modified. The body is virtually dent free. It was red primered before it was stored. There is no rust in the floors, doors, fenders or trunk tool tray. There are two poorly-repaired (Bondo'ed) rusted areas about 1/2" height and 10" length on the bottom of the panel between the quarters and door above the running board. These need to be re-done. There are two very small holes in the trunk floor, otherwise it is solid. All the stainless trim is good. We have a nice hood ornament on order. The interior is all there. The dash has been restored and painted blue. The odometer reads 07896 miles and because of the condition of the car, this is likely the original mileage. The original seat upholstery is in very good condition. The seat opens correctly to the rear storage area.The nice bumpers have been re-chromed. The right front inner panel is rusted around the battery box but we have a good one that comes with the car. The motor was professionally rebuilt at the time the car went into storage. We have rebuilt the distributor and carburator and the motor runs great.It does not smoke and has 40 lbs. oil pressure. The transmission and clutch are working. We have not gone through the brakes and it needs a brake job. This is a chance in a lifetime to acquire one of the most complete and original "survivor" 40 Ford coupes around.
