This Deauville Blue and white 1958 Pontiac Chieftain Safari 4 door, 9 passenger station wagon is a fairly complete and solid western desert car ready to be restored. Only 5,417 nine passenger Safari wagons were made in 1958. The body has good dry western sheet metal with no rust showing. The top fender trim bars are missing. The hood edge trim and center and left upper grill bars are missing. The headlight trim is in the engine compartment. The parking light lenses are broken. The lower edge of the front bumper is pulled out. The driver door mirror is missing. The left rear door is dented and the front trim bars are missing. There is a little dent above the left rear wheel well. The upper and lower clam shell doors are complete and the glass is good. The windshield and rest of the glass is good, except the driver door glass may not be good. All of the rear lenses are missing. The "I" and "C' letters on the tail gate are missing. The top rear of the right fin is cut open and damaged. The right end of the rear bumper is bent. The right front door lower trim is missing. The right front fender is dented and the trim is gone. The blue and white interior is all there, except the front arm rests, radio and horn ring are gone.The under-dash heater assembly is out and on the front floor. The upper inside windshield trim is loose and the rear view mirror is on and on the dash. The right rear folding seat is complete. The third row rear seat cushions are missing. The driver floor is rusted through. The other floors do not appear to be rusted but no inspection has been made. The 370 CID 2V 270 HP OHV V-8 and automatic transmission are all there, except the power brake master cylinder/booster, radiator, carburetor, air cleaner, front brackets and generator are missing.
