This black cherry 1963 Mercury Comet Special S-22 convertible is a very solid and mostly complete project car body and rolling chassis ready to be restored or customized. The Special has six tail lights and only 5,757 were made in 1963. The body has solid and dry western desert sheet metal. The left quarter panel and fin are damaged. The right grill and hood front are dented and the right headlights are missing. The right fender Comet badge is broken. Otherwise, the rest of the sheet metal is straight and solid. The windshield is good. The top is all there. The white and tan interior is all there except the headlight switch, horn button and radio are gone. The bucket seats are there and the console is missing. The floors are solid. The car had a 144 CID OHV inline six cylinder 85 HP motor and Merc-O-Matic transmission. The motor, transmission, under hood components and radiator are missing. The car has a 5 bolt V-8 differential which is not stock. Here is your chance to restore or customize a 63 Comet convertible. Please call (406) 318-0270 for details about this restorable classic 63 Merc project car.
