This 1920's Missouri River stern wheeler ferry boat paddle is an all original stern wheeler paddle ready to be restored. The paddle is believed to be from the Upper Missouri ferry boat Evelyn, which ran aground near Wolf Point, Montana in the late 1920's. The wheel was found on a farm near the banks of the Upper Missouri southeast of Wolf Point, Montana. These paddle boat ferries were used to transport vehicles, freight and people back and forth across the Missouri River along the Yellowstone Trail. The 3 hub 12 spoke paddle is 7 feet in height and 12 feet in width. The 3 1/2 " steel axle is in good condition. The hubs and most of the hardware are still there. The 39" 40 tooth 10 pitch Link-Belt (Chicago, IL) right drive sprocket is complete. There are plenty enough spokes, paddle boards and cross supports to built an authentic restoration. When restored, this paddle wheel would be great in front of a restaurant, attraction or theme park. It could also be used as the base for a stern wheeler paddle boat replica. Original hardware for stern wheeler paddles is very hard to find in good condition and with the existing wood, this is a real collector find. Please call 406 318-0270 for details. For sale $5,000
