This red 1947 Diamond T Model 509S two ton flatbed truck is and all-original survivor vehicle ready to be restored or used just the way it is. Last on the road in 1989, this superb truck is bone stock and has 26,302 original miles. The rust-free sheet metal is very straight except there is a small dent in the top left side of the left fender. The paint is original. There are drill holes in the doors where add-on tow mirrors were added and then removed. The grill center bar is cracked at the bottom. The badges, grill and hood ornaments have some pitting. The truck has the original headlights, running lights and stop lights which is uncommon. The original Diamond T perforated frame cross members are still there and few Diamond T trucks survive with these in place because they were cut away when hoist boxes were installed. The truck has a commercial steel and wood flatbed. The truck also has optional "Bud" wheels. The spare and spare carrier are stock. The rear tires and one front tire are new. One front tire is worn but the spare is new so we are switching them. The interior is all stock. The gauges look good. The original seat is there. The floors are solid. There are add-on turn signals and stop lights. There is a add-on manual turn signal on the upper cab corner  which we are removing. The six cylinder L-head Hercules motor, four speed manual transmission and two speed rear axle are all there. The truck was running and driving when it was parked in 1989. The motor runs well on a remote gas can. The tank and fuel lines need to be cleaned. The brakes are to the floor and the brake system needs to be disassembled, cleaned and repaired as needed.
