This 1918 Federal model X-13 five ton commercial flatbed truck is a very scarce vintage vehicle ready to be restored. This is the largest-sized Federal truck for this era with a 156" wheelbase chassis on steel spoked wheels. It has oversized rear drive wheels. This truck has a very scarce doghouse-style factory hood. Originally a C-cab, the wooden cab assembly is gone and the current partial cab wood is not stock. It appears the truck never had front fenders and this was common with the bigger trucks of this era. The radiator shell and filled cap are there. The cowl is solid and mostly straight. The hood is complete and the unusual heavy hood latches are all there. The windshield brackets are there and the right one is bent. The truck has an add-on horn mounted on the left windshield frame. The running boards and mounting brackets are solid. The left running board is bent at the back. The side box with embossed Federal insignias is all there. There is no seat or steering wheel ring. The back of the radiator core has fan run-in damage. The flathead inline four cylinder motor, transmission and Timken-Detroit worm gear differential are all there. The bed looks like a factory commercial flatbed. The fuel tank on the flatbed is not included. Do not miss this opportunity to build a scarce and desirable 1918 Federal vintage commercial truck.
