This orange and black 1940 GMC "Jimmy" 2 1/2 ton semi tractor is a mostly complete classic big truck ready to be restored or customized. This is a short wheelbase semi tractor with trailer fifth wheel. The body has dry and solid western desert sheet metal. Most of the grill is missing and the remaining parts are mostly bent and dented. There are welded tears in the top of the wheel wells of both front fenders. There are small dents in the cab back and fenders. All the flat glass is broken. The right outside mechanical turn signal is missing. The cab roof light lenses are broken. There are no rear fenders. The rear brake drums and dual wheels are missing. The brown interior is all there except the horn button, glove box lock, shifter knob and seat back are missing. The right window handle is shop-made. The 270 CID OHV inline six cylinder motor and four speed manual floor shift transmission with two speed rear axle are all there. The motor has an aftermarket dual single barrel carburetor setup. The right upper engine compartment brace has been modified to fit the dual air cleaners. The motor has an air compressor. Nothing has been taken off the motor and it looks like a runner. The actual running and driving condition is unknown. We can come up with correct rear wheels, brake drums and used tires for an additional charge. Here is your chance to restore a desirable 40 Jimmy big truck. Please call (406) 318-0270 for details about this restorable classic 1940 GMC project truck. For sale $4,000.
