This white 1957 Pontiac Star Chief Series 28 five door commercial ambulance is a mostly complete project car ready to be restored or customized. This a very scarce vehicle because the Star Chief Custom station wagon was a Series 27 and there were no Series 28 station wagons like this one offered for sale. This ambulance was a special order Series 28 station wagon with an ambulance high roof and special rear door. It has four stars and the rear quarter Star Chief bullet trim.The white paint is peeling and areas indicated below that have rust appears to be surface rust under peeled paint in most places. There are some small dents in the body and trim. The front and rear bumpers have dents and bends, primarily at the bottom, All the glass is good except the right front door and right quarter glass are broken and the rear door glass is gone. The roof emergency beacon light lens is missing. There is some rust in the lower back corners of the front doors and the lower front corners of the rear doors. There is some rust in the front fender tails. The right rear door and trim are dented in the back. The stop light lenses are broken. The rear bumper guards are rusted and damaged. There is some rust behind the left stop light assembly. There is a filled area in the left upper rear body corner and the paint is peeling. There is some rust in the front bottom of the left quarter panel. There is a dent above the left rear door. The interior body has been painted gray primer but the interior was originally tan. The dash and gauges are all there except the cigarette lighter and both ash trays are gone. The radio with cassette player is not stock. The door panels are off and there are two door panels in the back. The special split back front brown vinyl seat is all there. The special vinyl headliner is there and it is hanging down in the back. All the window garnish is off and in the back. A couple door handles are missing and the front chrome arm rests are on the front floor. The special ambulance deck and sides are all there. The chrome wheels are not stock. The 347 CID OHV 2V 227 HP V-8 motor and hydramatic transmission are all there. Nothing is taken off the motor and it looks like a runner.
