Desert Classics...1941 Lincoln-Zephyr Model 73 Four Door Sedan "Montana Pickup" For Sale

This Surf green 1941 Lincoln-Zephyr Model 73 four door sedan has been converted to a "Montana pickup" and is ready for restoration or customization. This car pickup is typical of the conversion from cars to pickups that were made after the Great Depression and WW II when you made do with what you had and fuel was rationed. Out west, we call them "Montana Pickups". These car-pickups were built because when fuel was rationed during these periods, trucks were exempt, thus the family sedan was turned into a truck! This particular truck is extremely scarce as very few of these conversions were made from such a rare and unique car as a 1941 Lincoln-Zephyr. The truck was painted lime green after it was converted. The truck has solid and dry western desert sheet metal. The hood, headlights and running lights are missing. The cowl has non-stock wipers installed. The right headlight has been cut out to fit apparently a 40 Ford headlight. The front bumper center cover is missing. The sides of both fenders are dented and the lower tail of the right fender is dented. Both door bottoms have some dents and the door handles inside and out are missing. The rear cab panel is of unknown origin. The back panel is patched to the front cab behind the doors with screwed-on sheet metal. A 1941 Zephyr sedan rear window is bolted into a hole in the back panel. The box is of unknown make or year. It has been fitted onto the stock rear car chassis. The rear bumper, missing the bumper guards, and the stock rear panel under the deck lid is still there. The running boards and wheel wells and home-made and poorly constructed. The box is strapped to the rear chassis. The dash is stripped and there is no steering column or floor panels. The front seat looks like it is stock 1941 Zephyr sedan front seat but this is not certain. The 292 CID L-head 120 HP V-12 motor, three speed manual transmission radiator and under-hood components are missing.
