This green 1929 Hupmobile Century Six Series A 4 door sedan "Montana Pickup" is a very solid and complete custom car ready to be restored. The conversion to a pickup (no bed) is fairly well done. The conversion consists of cutting out the center of the body and attaching the back sedan panel to the forward cab to make a pickup cab. Many of these trucks were built in Montana during WWII because gas was rationed for cars but not for trucks. This is the only Hupmobile Montana pickup we have ever seen. The sheet metal in this vehicle is good , dry and solid. There are no wheel rims, rear bumper, hood, radiator, grill, headlights or cowl lights. Both the front fenders are dented. There is rust in the lower windshield molding and a rust hole in the left top cowl. The left rear fender is dented in the back. There is one hubcap on the left rear wheel. The top has a home-made sheet metal insert made from an old Coca-Cola sign. The right door hinges are off. The rear "Inner fenders" are of unknown make. The interior is fairly complete. the seat springs may or may not be correct. The dash and gauges are all there. The odometer reads 51,707 miles. The original serial number tag is on the steering column. Some of the top and interior wood is there. The body serial number plate is on the cowl and the number is 98-53496. The 6 cylinder L-head inline 57 HP motor is mostly all there except the carburetor is missing. The transmission and rear end are all there. The chassis is solid and complete.
