This gold 1959 Mercury Parklane 2 door hardtop coupe is an all-original running and driving project car ready to be restored. There were only 4,060 made. The body is all there, very straight, no rust except a small paint bubble on the right lower door. The badges, trim, bumpers, grill and light assemblies are all good. There are some misc. things that need to be fixed in the interior such as ignition switch wiring and wiring hanging down. The emergency brake does not work and the pedal is stuck in the down position. The dash cover is not in very good shape. The condition of the dash under the cover is not known. The door panels and handles are off but all there. The cover for power window controls is off but have it. The windshield is broken. Snaps have been installed around the rear window. The rear glass was replaced but the outside rubber molding was not installed. The car runs and drives good. The 430 CID motor does not smoke. There is a miss in the engine and this may be a lifter problem or flat spot in the cam. The shifter indicator is out of adjustment. There is a little play in the steering. The tie rod ends are good. The manual fuel pump does not work and an electric fuel pump has been installed. The gas tank has been rebuilt. The car has new brakes. The odometer is struck between 85,000 and 95,000.
