This light blue 1955 GMC Suburban 2nd Series Model 101-8 1/2 ton pickup is a partially restored classic truck ready to be completed. This is the GMC version of the Chevy Cameo pickup and it is believed only about 300 GMC's were produced. Most all the parts and trim are there. There is no inventory of the trim and there may be a few pieces missing. There is an extra right door. The curved glass is good. The fiberglass rear fender panels are not broken or cracked but the fiber can be seen in a few places and they need to be re-resined. The front fenders have a few small dents but there is no rust. There are bumper cores and a grill. There is a fairly good hood ornament. The cab is solid and has some finish work already done. The floor is solid. The gauges and dash parts are off but are usable. There is a good seat core. The body was taken off the chassis. The chassis was sand blasted and painted and the cab remounted. The suspension looks like it has been gone through. The differential has not been rebuilt and the condition of the brakes and king pins are unknown. There is a steering column from a 4 speed truck but there is no column-mounted automatic transmission linkage. The box is off and has been sand blasted and primered. There is a good tailgate and rear light assemblies that come with the truck. All the spare tire carrier parts are there. The truck comes with a non-original but correct 287 Pontiac OHV 173 HP 2V motor and hydramatic transmission. The motor and transmission have about 60,000 miles and the motor runs and the transmission works.
