This yellow 1950 Ford F-5 Coleman 4X4 dump truck is a very scarce commercial truck ready to be restored. Coleman was the alternative 4X4 factory conversion for Ford, with Marmon-Herrington getting almost all the conversion work. Very few Coleman Ford conversions were made and they are very hard to find. The truck has solid and dry western desert sheet metal. The windshield is cracked. There is a dent in the corner of the left front fender and behind the wheel well. There is a small dent in the grill. There are slots cut below each headlight and these were liking used to mount a snow plow or winch. The front bumper has some bends. There are dents in the lower right front fender and on the rear side of the fender. There are dents in the cab top above each door. There are brackets bolted to the windshield pillars. There are mud flaps bolted to the front fenders and welded to the rear frame. The left front fender is loose at the cowl. There is a three-light roof light assembly and some of the lenses are missing. The left side mirror is missing. The truck has commercial steel dump box with tow hitch and hydraulic hoist made by Perfection. The top of the box rails are dented. The right side top bar has been cut. There are misc. brackets and hooks welded to the box and rear frame. The tailgate has been modified to include a sliding sand spreader door. There is an exhaust stack behind the cab. The original interior is all there except the glove box door is missing. The gauges are all there. The odometer reads 129,776. The floor is solid. The 239 CID L-head 100 HP V-8 is very complete and looks like a runner but the running and driving condition is unknown. The truck has a four speed manual floor shift transmission. The four wheel drive is full-time. The Coleman transfer case has two speeds, high and low. The second lever is apparently an axle interlock.
