This black 1939 Ford "Mongrel" 1 1/2 ton custom ore-hauling tractor and trailer are a very unique one-off truck ready to be restored or used the way it is. The truck hauled ore from the mines at Jardine Montana near Yellowstone Park for many years. The truck has a 1939 Ford truck chassis with hydraulic brakes and it has been shortened. The cowl is from a 1930 or 1931 Model A Ford roadster or phaeton and the hood matches this cowl. The headlamps are 1936 Ford and the left headlight is missing the chrome trim. The windshield is a back window from a 40's to 50's era sedan. The heavy gauge flat fenders are custom-made. The steering gear is from a larger and later truck. The grille guard may be from a WWI or WWII military vehicle and the bronze plate on it is from a WWI FWD truck. The horn is from a 1933 or 1934 Ford. The cast iron seat frame is from a Caterpillar 60 crawler tractor from the 20's. The radiator is probably from a later Ford truck. The truck has a later 221 CID L-head 85 HP flathead V-8 motor and 4 speed manual floor shift transmission. The truck has a heavy-duty tow bar for the trailer, dual rear wheels and tool boxes. The truck comes with the heavy-duty single axle steel-box dump trailer. Here is your chance to own an authentic and unique custom mine truck from the Montana high country. For sale $3,500.
