This green early 1930 Ford Model AA flatbed truck is a partially complete "Montana Pickup" ready to be restored or customized. This conversion to a pickup took place during World War II when gas was rationed and pickup trucks were exempt from the rationing. Thus many ranch-based family sedans were converted to "Montana pickup trucks" to circumvent fuel rationing. This vehicle has an early 1930 Model AA chassis with front fenders and headlights. The cab body is a 1931 Ford Model A four door slant window sedan with the rear of the body moved forward and welded to the front body to make a pickup cab. The back welded seams are rough and crude. The front cab and doors are solid and straight. The chrome cowl surround trim is dented. The front fenders have cracks and welded repairs. The left headlight bar is welded to the fender. The right headlight assembly has a dent on the inside back. The radiator is on the flatbed. The hood shown in the engine compartment is not for this truck. The dash panel is there. The controls are all there. The seat is there but it may not be stock. The inline 4 cylinder 200.5 CID L-head 40 HP motor is gone. The four speed manual floor shift transmission is there.
